In an interview after being called to represent Brazil at the Olympics U23 squad, the Internacional wonderkid Oscar admitted that Tottenham approached his agent showing interest in his services at White Hart Lane. Links being forged since the Sandro transfer and the recent arrival of Andre Villas-Boas, a well-known and talented scout before becoming a manager, at North London has made Oscar one of Tottenham priorities in this summer window.
Also, after landing Diego Forlán from Inter Milan, new rumours emerged about not only Oscar, but also Leandro Damião leaving the club to join Hotspur.
There weren’t any official offers yet for both of them, but Inter has been making plans of where they’d invest their money if the transaction is done. Diego Forlán’s transfer was deemed as Inter foreseeing a Leandro Damião loss in the future, and they’d look at options in the market seeking someone who could fill in Oscar position adequately.
So far, it doesn’t get any solid, and stands as rumour mill as we entered “silly season”. But considering that multiple reports count Modric close to a Real Madrid move, Tottenham will have money to spend wisely and without guilt.
