Vasco’s Dedé signs new contract

Young Dedé nurturing an unibrow

Vasco’s central defender and most valuable player Dedé, who’s been linked to European clubs since starting for the club, renewed his contract yesterday. His previous contract was going to end in 2014, but now his link was extended to 2015.

His wages went up to €100,000 monthly, as well as his release clause that now is of €28m. Like wonderkids Lucas Moura and Neymar, Dedé announced his intentions to stay at Brazil until the 2014 World Cup. Rumours said Milan and Juventus were interested in bringing him this transfer window; Milan was pushing harder as they recently lost Thiago Silva to PSG after a combined blockbuster move with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I just wonder how they managed to give Dedé a raise after reportedly delaying wages for the past 4 months.
