Atlético-MG has been on a good mood lately. They currently stand at 1st place in Brazilian League after 10 rounds, winning 8 matches in a good fashion. Their latest at home against Internacional showed how strong they’ve been as they beat Internacional, which haven’t feature Chelsea-bound Oscar and striker Leandro Damião as they’re in England with Brazil’s U23 squad, 3-1. That also put an end to a 10 year long taboo where they haven’t managed to beat Internacional since 2002. They didn’t need much to address on this transfer window, but they made a move to add depth.
Their last signing was Almería’s right back Michel. The 22 years old player will join Atlético-MG on loan after claiming he’s been under some personal trouble due to his family, and needs to be closer to them to try to solve them. He was a Flamengo’s youth player, becoming a pro in 2007, and joined Almería in 2008. Since then, he featured in 83 games for the Spanish team, scoring once.
The best of luck to him in this brief spell back to Brazil and to his family as well.
