Back when football was almost entirely an amateur sport, Brazil and Argentina already had an old country rivalry. Political debacles regarding the possession of the territory which is now known as Uruguay was the closest both countries had been to start a true war. There were a few years of both countries “baring” each other until Argentinian president Julio Argentino Roca decided to create a competition which would feature both teams and build more on the mystique of the biggest rivalry in football: the Copa Roca.

In Brazilian League, time runs fast. Really, really fast. We started the season back in May and after only 3 months, we’re already close to finish the 1st part of the tournament. And people still wonder why players can’t give their full effort on the pitch here… Anyways, Round 15 is up, and there’ll be a few interesting games in Santos vs. Cruzeiro and Fluminense vs. São Paulo. After the jump, my opinion over the games.

While the attentions are at UFC’s fight between Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva, I’ll try to move the focus to things that don’t involve as much blood as MMA: football!
This round at Brazilian League Serie A has some good and important matches, for example Internacional at home playing against Cruzeiro, both title contenders. But none of those matches are as important as the most important Brazilian derby: the Fla-Flu.
